Joseph Hake

MYP Individuals and Societies, Business Teacher

Joseph Hake is ISNS’s new DP Business Management and upper MYP Individuals and Societies teacher.  Joseph has been teaching IB I&S for three years.  His educational history includes a bachelor’s degree in history, along with an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Joseph grew up just outside of Chicago, in the United States, and has spent most of his adulthood travelling around the US and the rest of the world.  He has worked in all of the education, for-profit, and non-profit sectors in the US, China, and Nigeria, while managing to travel all around North America, Europe, West Africa, and East Asia.  Joseph also enjoys nature photography, hiking, bicycling, and camping.

Joseph has since exchanged the exciting life of a traveler for the rewarding life of a father, and has decided that Shenzhen stands out as one of the best places in China to raise a child, and that ISNS is among the top choices for his own son’s education.  He very much enjoys bringing his experiences into the classroom and into extracurricular activities.  When he is not teaching, you will either find him on an early morning bike ride, facilitating a student-led CAS initiative, photographing Shenzhen’s amazing wildlife, or spending time with his family in a museum or park close-by.
