Addie Loy

Director of Program Development

Addie strongly feels that students should be given opportunities to relate their learning and critical thinking skills to social challenges and problems outside the school walls. She believes that students should feel empowered and become independent through inquiry, problems solving, and working with their peers. She believes in celebrating the cultural differences between students and encouraging students to try new and exciting experiences.

Addie is from Detroit, Michigan and received her undergraduate degree in teaching with an emphasis in social sciences from Eastern Kentucky University. While teaching history and geography at the Middle School and High School levels, she developed a passion for teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language (ESL).

Addie holds a Master’s degree in Teaching, with a focus English as a Second Language (TESOL) from Western Governor’s University in Utah. Currently Addie is pursuing a doctorate in international comparative education. Addie is also an IB workshop leaders and school visit team member, has led workshops at the ACAMIS leadership conference, ACAMIS EAL conference, and the  Asia-Pacific International School’s conference. She has been working at ISNS for over 10 years; she has taught English courses, was the Director of the ESL/EAL program and the MYP Coordinator for two years before joining the senior leadership team.

Addie is excited to be part of the growth and change at ISNS as the Director of Program Development and is looking forward to a great year!
