Mikaela Beier is a grade 2 homeroom teacher at ISNS. She is originally from Minnesota where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in STEM. She taught grade 3 in the Philippines prior to joining ISNS in 2021.

Mikaela is passionate about being a lifelong learner and modelling what that looks like to her students. She has an extensive travel background and her passion for exploring new cultures is what took her career internationally.

Mikaela knew she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was a primary student herself. She strives to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere that allows for students to feel encouraged to explore, create, and share new discoveries as a community. Mikaela is passionate about the IB PYP and its ability to turn student interest and curiosity into real learning.

During Mikaela’s free time, she enjoys scuba diving, swimming, hiking, exploring new places, and cozying up with a good book.
