Ernie hails from Cape Town, South Africa and has a deep intrinsic love for education and seeing students grow as they navigate through their middle and high school years and prepare for tertiary education. Within the IB framework this is an important and exciting time to be part of students’ development. 

Ernie studied at the University of Cape Town where he received a BMus degree in Music education with piano and saxophone being his majors.   

For more than 22 years he has taught students ranging from ages 3 to grade 12. During a large portion of this time, he had the role as the Head of Arts Department. In addition, Ernie has worked with community choirs in South Africa for 10 years feeding his passion for music.  

Ernie has a love of exercise and running. He has a goal to run a marathon on every continent in his life-time. At ISNS, Ernald and his wife, Liezl, along with their daughters Mikhaela and Rebecca, are proud to be part of a team that is dedicated to see students grow and achieve all that they can at ISNS, an IB World School.
