Martine Lusignan

Head of World Language and MYP & DP French and Performing Arts Teacher

Martine is a bilingual French-Canadian teacher from Montreal, Quebec. She teaches French and Theatre Arts to middle and high school students. Martine graduated from Laurentian University with a BA of Education after receiving a bilingual BA in Political Science from York University, in Toronto, Canada. Martine also studied organizational Leadership at HEC Montreal, Canada.

Before coming to ISNS, Martine taught in a French school in Toronto, Ontario. Prior to her academic teaching profession, Martine was a professional classical ballet dancer. She has been sharing her love of dance and theatre arts as a teacher and mentor of students and professionals for the past 20 years. Also, Martine is the co-founder of the integrated dance company Corpuscle Danse, based in Montreal, for handicapped and non-handicapped dancers. In 2018, she received the Governor General Meritorious Service Medal for her contribution to the development and promotion of integrated dance in Canada.

Martine, her husband John, and their daughter Morgane are honored to be part of the ISNS team and to share the philosophy of the IB program. Creating a safe, positive, and motivating environment in the classroom inspires Martine as she fosters open-minded and confident attitude.
