Melaina Talamahina

Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher and Team Lead

Melaina Talamahina is a proud Pacific Islander from the land of the long white cloud, New Zealand.

She has taught in New Zealand, Egypt and China for many years. She enjoys traveling to new places and experiencing memorable adventures with her family. She has a bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, with a Montessori Teaching Specialty. She loves watching, coaching, and playing sports. She has played provincial cricket, national high school basketball and netball at a national and international level. She has three children who have been to or are at ISNS. Her husband is the Athletic Director and Head of PE.

Melaina loves teaching and learning at ISNS, as she enjoys an inquiry-based approach to learning. She loves to create learning environments that are inviting, comfortable and creative, so her students feel at home when they are at school.
