Delia is originally from Houston, Texas and lived in Southern California for several years as a librarian in corporations, public libraries, and schools before coming to China. She earned a B.A. in English literature and Spanish at Loyola, New Orleans and earned her Master’s in Library and Information Studies at UCLA as well as a secondary teaching credential at Cal State L.A. She loves working with kids of all ages, and loves connecting stories with young people; as an information junkie, she finds librarianship more relevant now than ever in ensuring kids become responsible, critical, and ethical consumers of information in the age of misinformation.
An avid foodie and lover of nature--she relishes Chinese cuisine and enjoys cooking for friends, and hiking in nearby mountains. She also practices yoga, modern dance, and meditation and enjoys birdwatching. Delia speaks French and Spanish, and wants to learn Mandarin as well. She misses her cats she left behind in the United States, Meister and Stravinsky.
