An grew up in San Francisco, California.  Her training in humanistic development from UC Davis has taught her that each child is different and that as teachers we need to create a safe environment for children to learn and explore, where their voices are heard, and their opinions respected.  As a licensed Kindermusik educator she believes children learn best through play and music. From teaching,  she learned that children who sing are happier, absorb information faster, and learn better, especially when positive behaviors are recognized individually and as a whole. An holds an education degree from University of Nottingham and is CELTA certified.  She taught in Beijing for the past five years and is now living and working in Shenzhen with her family. 

In her spare time An enjoys reading and learning about everything.  Her interests includes geology, Fengshui, architecture, culinary arts, culture, art, music, sports, health, cars, robots, renewable energy, study of water, and the cosmic universe.
