John grew up on the beautiful East Coast of Canada. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University with an Honours Degree in Anthropology. He continued to follow his love of exploring different ways of understanding the world by completing a Master’s Degree specializing in Media Studies and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Toronto. He later attended the University of Prince Edward Island where he received his Bachelor of Education. 

John is thrilled to continue his educational journey at ISNS as a Grade 4 Homeroom teacher. He has been teaching internationally for many years and has experience in English, Drama, Media Studies, and English as a Second Language. He has called many amazing countries home including: England, Korea, Australia, Cambodia, and now China.

John is a passionate, experienced teacher and researcher who loves being involved in fostering a lifelong appreciation for learning and inquiry in students of all ages. He loves teaching and there is nothing he would rather be doing than exploring the world with a classroom full of students.
