Izell Pretorius is a Grade 2 Homeroom teacher at ISNS and has been an educator since 2009. She is from South Africa and obtained her Bachelor of Social Work degree, majoring in Social Work and Psychology, at the North-West University, Potchefstroom. Her education journey started in South Korea and her passion for teaching was ignited whilst teaching English as a foreign language to early years and primary students. After South Korea, she completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and worked as an educator in South Africa for four years before moving to China in 2018.

Izell is passionate about the IB Program and its holistic approach to education. It’s rewarding to see how it enables student inquiry and creativity within a collaborative support structure. She is excited to be joining the ISNS team and go on a new learning journey with her students this year. In her free time, Izell loves to cook, travel and spend time with her family. She loves the outdoors and is passionate about nature and animals.
