Marc Sommerville

EY Creative Art Teacher

Marc Sommerville joined the ISNS faculty in 2021.  He is thrilled to be a part of the EY team as the creative arts teacher.  He was born in Toronto, Canada, and has taught overseas for more than six years of his teaching career.

He started his career as an elementary school teacher in 2007, when he moved to Seoul, Korea to teach and develop programs in language arts, math, science, music, and other subjects for EAL learners. Over the years, he has continued to broaden and strengthen his teaching practice through ongoing professional development in music, drama, early years, ICT, guidance, and special education.

Marc is a lifelong learner, who is committed to supporting the success of his students, colleagues, and the wider community. He builds strong relationships with others and establishes safe and caring learning environments where students can explore, create, and reflect on their learning.

His hobbies include song-writing, hiking, travel, and photography. In his spare time, he likes to meditate, climb mountains, and source sustainable and vegan food.
