Michelle Roycroft

MYP English Aquisition Teacher

Michelle, an IB certified MYP English Language Acquisition teacher at ISNS, has over 20 years’ experience as an educator. She began her career in Canada as a lecturer in Fine Arts, Gender Equality and Social Justice before her love of language and culture led her down a second career path teaching English as a Second Language and intercultural communication. Before coming to China in 2017 to teach high school English, Michelle lived in the USA, where she managed her own language and cross-cultural training company for 10 years, providing ESL, Cross-Cultural and Accent Modification training to expatriate professionals and their families. She has a passion for travelling that has taken her to more than 31 countries around the globe; China is the fourth country in which she has lived and worked.

Michelle is a big believer in life-long learning. She holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, is CELTA certified, and has additional certifications in intercultural training and accent modification; she is also a 200-hour trained yoga teacher. Michelle’s qualifications have been enriched not only by her exposure to diverse nationalities and the challenges of living and working abroad, but also by her continuing endeavor to advance her French, Spanish and Mandarin skills. She is excited to be joining the dynamic teaching team at ISNS and looks forward to supporting the young language learners there!
