Stella Deng

Upper PYP Guidance Counsellor (G3-G5)

Stella Deng is from Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, where she focused her thesis on mental health in school students. She exchanged to Peking University in her third year at the University. Following university, Stella took her dual degree in Counseling and Mental Health Services (M.S.Ed) and Professional Counseling (M. Phil) at the University of Pennsylvania. She got her Teacher Certification in school psychology after finishing her graduation.

This is Stella’s second year back to China and first year at ISNS. Prior to joining ISNS, Stella worked as a mental health counselor in Philadelphia and Shenzhen. As an EY counselor, Stella strives to identify concerns early on and provide timely help. She will work with students individually, in small groups, or in the classroom setting. Her aim is to equip students with tools and skills in the areas of empathy, problem solving and self-awareness so that they are empowered to handle current and future challenges. Stella has a passion for supporting students to become resilient, independent and caring individuals well-equipped to handle challenges they may face in and outside of school. She works collaboratively to serve the students and community of ISNS and welcome any inquiries, big or small.
