Yannis Zhao holds a Bachelors in Education from Xi Hua Univeristy in Chengdu. Also, she earned her Masters' degree and Teaching Certification from City University of Hong Kong. Yannis began her teaching career in Hong Kong. She worked in a variety of different schools and learning centers as a Mandarin teacher for over seven years, teaching non-native and near-native Chinese students.

Yannis considers herself to be an enthusiastic and energetic learner who thrives in personal and professional growth. She is passionate about integrating technology into Chinese lessons to raise students’ learning interests. As an experienced IB educator, she creates lesson plans to meet individual students' needs and develop students to be lifelong learners.
