Samuel Lee

MYP/DP Chemistry Teacher

Samuel Lee is a Malaysian who grew up in Singapore. He graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Environmental and Sustainability Studies. He taught the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced and Ordinary level Chemistry while working towards a PGCE at the University of Nottingham. After coming to China in 2016, Samuel worked on his Master of Education in Advanced Teaching from the University of the People in collaboration with the IBO where he enjoyed conducting educational research. He is currently working towards his Doctor of Education. 


Samuel started teaching in Singapore in 2013 before coming to Foshan, China in 2016 and has taught DP Chemistry since 2017. He is continuously striving to better his teaching and learning skills in promoting a positive, diverse, and inclusive classroom environment. He has been an examiner for DP Chemistry since 2017 and A-level Chemistry (9701) since 2019. Samuel advocates joyful and meaningful teaching and learning in the classroom. He believes that learners need to be equipped with various skills to meet the challenges of the next century.


Aside from teaching and learning in the classroom, Samuel is also experienced in various roles prior to joining ISNS. He served in a coordinating role for assessments within schools, served as a university guidance counselor, and was a crucial member of the staff welfare committee. Samuel has always loved to serve as CCA teacher-in-charge for Badminton and American Pool since 2016.
